Transkantonales Tauschgeschäft / Transcantonal barter
30.09.–23.10.2016

With the exhibition and the event series on ‘transcantonal barter’, the cultural connection between the cantons of Thurgau and Graubünden is given center stage. At the start of the second season of the Haus zur Glocke, the artist duo Gabriela Gerber and Lukas Bardill take up the export industry surrounding the Steckborn tiled stoves in Graubünden’s magnificent parlors in order to animate the narrative fragments of stove tiles – images of allegories, legends, exotics and also big life questions. The installation, built especially for this exhibition, uses video to tell stories.

As a strolling scientist, Christian Ratti from Graubünden has already organized many a convivial exploration. Since 2008, he has also looked curiously into cellars, shafts and canals and searches for toads, frogs, and other amphibians. While, at the time of the Frog Ping, a newt could sometimes be found trapped in a drawing well, today traps abound. The office for wildlife architecture co-founded by Ratti is committed to the dissemination of exit aids. How does it ‘unk’ from the basement of the Haus zur Glocke?

With their Stubete, Stéphanie Lobmaier & friends bring traditional-looking sound worlds with unexpected musical sprinklings into the tavern of the Haus zur Glocke.
