MÖGLICHE ABWEICHUNG VON DEN GEPLANTEN ZIELEN
There are creatures such as deer, donkeys or guinea pigs that are paralyzed by shock in high-risk situations. Their movements are freeze, escape is impossible and the enemy believes that its prey is already dead. For an instant, at least, time stops and the body stands still in this reflex – neither temporally nor spatially planned. This example implies two dimensions. For one the body, conditioned over time, for another the influence thereon, which expresses itself in the here and now. This interplay between environment and disposition constitutes the nexus of the exhibition “Mögliche Abweicheung von den geplanten Zielen” (possible deviations from the planned goals) with works by Arabella Hilfiker, Fabian Heller, Larisa David, as well as Emmie McLuskey and Sarah Fastré. The works of the artists, who heed from Leipzig, Kassel, Rotterdam, Marseille, and Glasgow, were created during the past two years in the Dogo Residenz für Neue Kunst (residency for new arts) in Lichtensteig.
